Electrical Engineering News
Congratulations to Kang Peng!
The Electrical Engineering department would like to congratulate Kang Peng for successfully defending his PhD Dissertation, "Modeling and Loss Analysis of Wide Bandgap Power Semiconductor Devices.” The soon to be Dr. Peng successfully developed the first scalable loss model that provides performance projection capability for future SiC MOSFETs and SiC Schottky diodes. This new development will potentially increase the performance of power converters in various power electronic applications like electric cars, aircrafts, and ships.
Shown below is Kang with his PhD committee members (L to R): Dr. Chen Li from Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Enrico Santi (advisor), Kang, and Dr. Grigory Simin.
We wish Kang the best of luck in all his future endeavors!
